Worn Orings
- In the plunger or head: can cause leakage of product requiring a breakdown and cleaning of equipment
- Broken O-rings can damage the head or plungers requiring a more expensive parts replacement
- Worn O-rings throughout the machine prevent the equipment from operating at its optimum and may affect overall product consistency and taste
O-rings will need replacement when they show visible nicks or cuts and/or have swollen and/or become stretched
Duckbill Valves & Door Gaskets
- Worn out duckbill valve will cause popping problems in machine and will affect the finished product.
- You will see foam in the mix containers
- Worn door gasket will not seal cabinet door properly causing a raise in cab temperature and affecting liquid mix
- Door gasket can form mold and bacteria if not properly maintained
- Can lead to larger refrigeration issues
Shaft Seals
- Shaft seals needs to be removed from beater shaft upon cleaning
- O-ring inside shaft needs to be fully lubricated
- Worn shaft seals can damage beater shaft and cylinder and cause mix to leak into rear of machine
- Can lead to expensive part repairs & cause a health hazard as mix fills up inside the machine
- Shaft seals should be changed every 6 months
